We Elevators have a really mixed bag of interests and passions.
We have our dedicated music lovers, our book worms and our dancing queens not to mention our cinema and theatre enthusiasts so if there’s one night of the year that we can all agree on, it’s Culture Night.
Putting the after-work pints to one side, this Friday (September 19th) gives Dublin dwellers the opportunity to visit countless arts and heritage venues around the capital.
Throwing open their doors beyond the usual opening hours, these are really special free events that will not only give us a renewed grá for the city we live in but also provide enough cultural enrichment to sustain us for at least another year!
Highlight events this year include
• Live performance of RTÉ’s Concert Orchestra hosted by Arena in Meeting House Square
• Surprise LeCool experience
• Short Irish movies shown throughout the night in Filmbase, Templebar
• Dance Ireland offer free taster classes as well as a dance and visual arts exhibition of work by visual artist, Jeanette Doyle
• Fathers of Western Thought perform their musical interpretation of Ulysses from the ‘Re:Joyce’ project in The Workman’s Club
• Free introductory class in modern epee fencing with fencing coaches from FenceFit
There’s even free buses running from key locations around the city so there’s really no excuse not to take part!
